Hot Tub Removal FAQ
Answers to common questions about access, preparation, utilities, decks, and swim spas.
Does the tub need to be drained?
Yes. Removal should begin only after the water is out. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and local rules for discharging water.
Who disconnects the power?
If the spa is hardwired, arrange for a qualified electrician to disconnect it and make the circuit safe before removal. Confirm this responsibility for the specific job.
What if the gate is narrow?
Measure the clear opening and photograph the turns on both sides. Many units can be dismantled into smaller sections, but the method depends on the tub and work area.
Can a swim spa be removed?
Swim spas need their own plan because they are longer and contain more material. Send dimensions and photos of the full route.
Can surrounding deck boards leave too?
Selected surrounding materials may be scoped with the tub. Structural deck work, repairs, and reconstruction may require a deck contractor.
What changes the estimate?
Size, installation, access, stairs, deck height, carry distance, surrounding materials, and disposal volume all affect the job.
Ready to clear the space?
Describe the tub, where it sits, and the path to the driveway. Photos of the unit and access route make the first conversation more useful.
